Second video launched
The Land in Shetland campaign’s second video, highlighting the benefits to the fishing industry of using the islands’ markets, has gone live in the build-up to Scottish Skipper Expo in Aberdeen in May.
It features Peter Bruce, skipper of the Peterhead trawler, Budding Rose, who recommends Lerwick Port Authority’s user-friendly market as within easy reach of fishing grounds with quick turnaround, saving time and cost, and competitive prices, the package attracting repeat visits by satisfied crews.
The recently-launched campaign is an initiative by the Port Authority and Shetland Islands Council which has a market at Scalloway and a designated landing port at Cullivoe. It comes at a time of high fuel prices and growing concerns about the carbon footprint associated with food production.
There will be four more videos before the partners in the initiative promote Land in Shetland at Scottish Skipper Expo from 12-13 May.
